winmail.dat

dusies

I have disabled the Word
editor, I have changed the overall format to plain text
as well as for each individual contact and to no avail.
They still get winmail.dat files regardless of the type
of attachment I sent (.doc,.jpg,
etc...) It appears fine in my sent folder and the
attachments arrive as the proper
attachment when sent to myself, but not to anyone else.
They either arrive as winmail.dat or no attachment at
all, even to those using Outlook as well.

I am NOT using RTF or word as my editor.

We are also experiencing this within my organization.
Sender is using Outlook, Rich Text message sent via
internet. We receive here on Exchange 2000 server.
Client reads in Outlook 2002...

....Some recipients can read no problem.

....Others see the winmail.dat.

I dont see any difference in configuration.

I found one Q article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;278061&Product=ol2002
, but it does not explain this specific issue.

Any help would be appreciated, the angry users keep
stormming into my office today!

Thanks...
