Winfax 10.01 error: replace with winxp faxing?

D

DrB

Just installed professional WinXp. Since I originally had Winfax pro 10.1, I
installed it. Tried to run a scanner and get general fault err
RTFCTL32.dll"wfxctl32.exe application error. Instruction 0x77f7e22a error in
reference memory at 0x00000028. The memory could not be read. Anyone know
how to fix?

Is there anything in winxp that could replace Winfax that allows multiple
people faxing?

Using windows XP fax services you can do faxing. However you cannot share
the fax printer so that people using Windows XP in otehr machines can use
the shared fax printer to fax. I hope that is what you meant when you said
"multiple people faxing". I am not well versed with winfax product.

What I meant was to be able to send batch faxes to people in my address
book. Winfax does it nicely, but the product is getting outdated and been
having trouble getting it to work with my scanner when I updated to winxp
from winme. Also looks like Symantec is not working on anything newer. So I
thought that winxp would or could do the same thing. Does it?

You are asking if Windows XP Fax can send to multiple recipients?
Of course.

Yes.

Normally I develop a one page document in MSWord and fax it to 100 to 600
members who are in my address book in Winfax Pro or Outlook Express. Can
winxp do this?

Yes.
You can add as many recipients as you want and each will be dialed in
succession. I should think you'd want a full features fax program and a fax
board for that many recipients, however.
XP Fax was never intended to be a full featured fax program.
