Windows XP's CD-Burning Capabilities

I figured out what was causing Nero to disable Windows XP's burning
capabilities. After reformatting WIndows XP (It was the first
timeinabout ayear) the drag and drop burn function worked fine.
I installed Nero and it still worked fine. But once I set "Restrict
CD-ROm access to Locally logged on user" XP's burning capabilities are
toast. But Nero works fine.

Is there a way Nero and XPs burning can co-exist?

Why would you?
Nero burns in same ISO/Joliet format as native XP does when selecting data
burn in Nero. And does music CDs just as well.

I knew somebody would say that.

This PC is for my parents and they don't knowhow to use Nero. It is
alot easier for them to just drag and drop rather than usse Nero. I've
tried showing them how but for some reason they just aren't
understanding. When I'm there however, I sometimes sometimes have to
burn/Copy CDs and DVDs, so I need Neto working.
Hence I'm looking for a way to do both.

Both peacefully coexist on both my laptop and desktop, I installed XP
and then Nero and have never made any changes in setting in either -
yet they both work just fine.

I figured it out. I installed NeroBurn rights and gave everyone the
ability to burn. I then disabled the restrict CD-ROM access setting
and all is well.

Now if only MS would hurry up and get drag and drop to DVD working soon.

Do you think Microsoft will issue an update that allows the same drag
and drop-ness using DVD-R?
