I'm running office 2000 on windows xp with the CDFS as
opposed to NTFS. I can't install office on any of the
user accounts. I get the error message Error 1913. Could
not update the ini file Win.ini during office setup.

in a group dedicated to Windows XP there's not a lot of point using a
subject line of "Windows XP" is there?
try posting this question at microsoft.public.office.misc where you might
get a better answer.

Hi,

CDFS is a Compact Disc Filing System terminology ...

"The Windows XP Professional Compact Disc File System
(CDFS) can read compact discs (CDs) formatted according to
the ISO 9660 file system standard."

NTFS is a filing system for your Operating System .. the
way files are stored on your Hard Disk.

This link should help :)

If you're saying that Windows and Office are installed on a CDFS
drive, that can't possibly be correct. CDFS is used only for CDs.

Windows and Office have to be installed on a hard drive, running
either NTFS or FAT32.
