windows xp startup and norton

I have norton firewall and anti-virus software running. When I startup my
computer it takes 1 minute from the time the xp logo appears for me to be
able to do anything. The other two programs I have running in the bottom
right hand corner are creative volume control and safely remove hardware
icons.

I checked msconfig and there's 6 items checked and they are all items I need
to keep remained check. So, is there anything I can do to quicken my pc
startup time? I think Norton is really the problem.

The only other things to do would be to defrag your hard drives. You seem
to have got the startup programs under control. Norton would most likely be
the culprit for the delay.

I'm kind of surprised that would have such a startup delay. I have 2047MB of
memory, a 250gb hard drive, and a dual pentium 3.0Ghz. You would think that
could handle Norton, lol.

Hard drive partitioned? Take "Jane, not plain ;) 64bit enabled ;)
Batteries not included. Braincell on vacation." 's advice. EITHER way!
:) :)
