Sorry mate, I was laughing so much when I wrote that I could not finish my
last sentence. It should have read:

Buy win xp, download sp1a once, and then follow the directions at http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstream_01.htm in order to create a bootable copy of xp that includes the service pack.
