Windows XP screen saver restarts system, serious error has occurred

My new system is giving me fits...it's an HP A300n tower.
Ever since I set it up, some of the screen savers cause
the system to spontaneously restart, and "a serious error
has occurred" comes up, and I report the error to MS as
requested. I've tried 3 of the screen savers supplied
with the OS..."Starfield" has no problems so far, "3D
Pipes" restarts the computer after 10 minutes (error
report says it's a driver issue), "Mystify" restarts after
about an hour (error report says it's a Microsoft
application error). What's going on here?

Dave, from what I see of your system you have onboard intel Graphics
and only 256MB or Ram. If that's the case
you need more Ram because the integrated Graphics Chip on the
Motherboard borrows or uses some of your
System Ram. 3 D Screensavers put a heavy load on your Systems
Resources.

Hi Dave,

In addition:

Right Click the My Computer Icon/Properties/Advanced/Performance/
Settings/Advanced/Change. Set Page File to 0, ok your way out and reboot.
Then follow the same procedure and reset the Page File to System Managed
File.
