Windows XP Professional Academic Version

Is there a difference between Windows XP Pro and Windows
XP Pro Academic Version? The academic version is 1/2 the
price, but I am unwilling to buy it if there is a large
reduction in features. Any information would greatly be
appreciated.

Same features, different license. Main points are:
1 - you must be a student to use it.
2 - once you are no longer a student you cannot use it anymore and have to
purchase a regular license.

I also thought that the Academic licenses do not qualify for upgrades to the
next version.

The system is exactly the same - it is provided under a restricted
license, solely to the student (or teacher) concerned, for the duration
of the course - it may not be transferred
