Windows XP Pro Automatic Login

I have had my primary computer set for automatic login, so that if the
computer reboots due to an update or a power outage, it will automatically
log me in. This allows remote access, since the computer is "always" up and
running.
Recent maintenance of users and share settings have somehow led me to change
the way the computer boots. I can now either log in from the "old style"
windows login screen, which prompts for my password, or I can log in from the
XP Welcome screen.
I woudl like to get back to the automatic login I had prior to "fixing" the
login. Do you have suggestions?
