Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) Update

I have Windows XP Home Edition on my computer. By mistake I installed a
Windows Update "Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) [See KB810243 for more information]".
How do I remove it? When I click on the update in Control Panel/Add or
Remove Programs, this Hotfix update does not have a REMOVE BUTTON. I was
able to remove two other updates that I added at the same time as this update
but can not remove this one. Can anyone help me?

Also, do you know what this update "fixes"?

My understanding is that it is a security update. That would also explain
why you could not uninstall it. If it isn't a security update, then trying
restarting your computer. It could be that the installation needs to restart
to fully complete the installation. Then you might be able to remove it.

Best bet if you installed recently, is to do a system restore to a date
prior to that installation.
Search Microsoft.com for KB810243 for purpose of the update. It may shock
you..

Go to:
C:\windows\
Double click the file with "KB810243" in the title.
Double click "spuninst"
Double click "spuninst.exe" and follow the prompts to uninstall the
update.

If that option is not available, System Restore to Date/Time before
issue started:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore
