Windows XP error message

When I reboot my computer & click on an icon (any icon on
the desktop)I get an error message that reads "The system
cannot find file specified", I then have to click o.k. on
that box or the program I originally clicked on will not
load.

Would need a lot more info to troubleshoot that, but have you scanned for
viruses lately is my first question? If not, better do it! Need to at
least eliminate that as the issue.

This means that file pointed by the shortcut, is not there, check the path.
