I've tried to modify User>change how user logon and both option are clicked.
I want the welcome screen first when I boot up my laptop. I only have 1 user
currently set up, I used to see the welcome screen before logging on. Now it
just logs on automatically, how can i fix this?

Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt>type: control
userpasswords2 . Make sure that the box
Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer is
checked. If not, do so and click Apply, Ok.

Do yo actually have a password set? If not, the machine just might go
directly to desktop.

Hi gt_cali,

Set a Password your user account. Also, if you've configured Windows to
automatically logon, follow this step to clear the auto-logon credentials
from the registry, so that Welcome Screen is displayed at startup.

Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type control
userpasswords2, and then click OK. In the dialog box that appears, enable
Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer check box,
and then click OK.
