What do you mean exactly "keep getting an update" ?

By that, do you mean it keeps on appearing on the Windows Update - updates page?

Seeing how you used the words "how do i hide this update" it seems that you know
about "hiding" updates that you have chosen to ignore and not install.

You do that by selecting "Custom" search on the updates webpage, instead of
"Express", then you can choose "Hide this update" to any you do not want to see
again.

Why don't you (as I do) just set the Windows Update control panel to download and
install automatically.

That way, you are sure that your PC is continually up-to-date with all the
recommended updates.

OR is this "update" part of a "dodgy" email you got?

P.S. To start a background search for updates, create a new shortcut on your desktop
and paste the following into the "Command" box :

wuauclt.exe /detectnow

....and click on it every time you want to check for updates, without having to
actually go to the Windows Updates website.
