Windows Update repeatedly downloads patch 811493

Ever since that nasty worm struck a couple weeks ago,
Windows Update keeps telling me that I have to download
this patch:

811493: Security Update (Windows XP)
Download size: 3.2 MB, < 1 minute
A security issue has been identified that could allow an
attacker to compromise a computer running Microsoft®
Windows® XP and gain complete control over it. An
attacker would need the ability to log onto the computer
locally to carry out an attack. You can help protect your
computer by installing this update from Microsoft. After
you install this update, you may have to restart your
computer.

I've downloaded it twice, but the silly site thinks I
still need to download it. Is something wrong at the site
or on my computer?

Thanx,

Paul,

Shut off any anti-virus program and go to the windows or winnt folder,
expand $NtUninstallQ811493$ or $NtUninstallQ811493_RTM so the spuninst
folder is visable and execute the spuninst file. This will remove the
patch. Reboot, go back into windows or winnt folder and delete
$NtUninstallQ811493$ or $NtUninstallQ811493_RTM completely.

Then allow automatic updates to present Q811493 for install. Shut off the
anti-virus and install the patch and reboot.

I had the same problem and this worked for me.
