Windows Picture and Fax Viewer

Right after I installed XP, when I clicked on a "jpg" file,
the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer started up and displayed
the file. Now, whenever I click on a "jpg" file, MSFT
Photo Editor displays the file. If I right-click on a
"jpg" file and select Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the
"open with" option, the Photo Editor displays the file.

From what I can tell, there seems to be no way to fix this.
Is that right?

=======================================
Try this:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

Then try the following:

Open an image folder and right click one of your
image files...from the menu, select...Open With /
Choose Program.

Make your choice from the list or Browse to the
correct program if it is not in the list. Once you
make your selection...be sure to check the box
that says: "Always use the selected program to
open this kind of file". (you will need to do this
for each format....jpg, .tif, .gif...etc.)

Some more info:

Also...in WinXP, you can go to...My Computer /
Tools / Folder Options / File Types tab...
