I am trying to capture analog video with WMM -- and no
dice! Same thing with Arcsoft ShowBiz. However, SONIC
MyDVD will do it. I am using Adaptec's Video Capture
Card.

I keep getting an error message with the first two(WMM,
Showbiz) something to the effect of the program doesn't
recognize device, can't find device and general errors
like that.

If it doesn't really matter which one I use, then I'll
just keep using MyDVD. I just really wanted to try out
WMM and ShowBiz to see how they do.

I will say that what I've been able to do with WMM is
cool--better than ShowBiz and MyDVD(titles, end credits
and all that stuff!) but if how I load the analog clips
doesn't matter than S-O-B, I'll have to do it that way.

Mike,

The link on my Analog Video Capture > Adaptec page shows 5 models and all
say they are MPEG2 capture devices.

MPEG2 files typically don't work with Movie Maker 2 and need conversion
first.

Hi, I just bought a Movie Writer which included ShowBiz and Movie Maker. I have probelms with them both recognizing a disc in the drive. Movie Maker is great when it works but that seems to be few and far between. I can't add clips to the story board or save my project wthout the 75% possiblity of the program crashing and an error report to send. I'm spending more time cursing the program then actually getting things done with it. It has to be compatible with the drive I just got as Movie Maker was one program included with the purchase. I send my error reports when I can but never get a resolution to the problem. I want to make movies and don't know much about file types etc. I have the same problems as the others. Seems there has to be something wrong with the program being we all have the same problems. HELP US!
