Windows Media Player will not open

Hi
Can anyone help me?
When I try to open Windows Media Player, all I get is an
error box saying "An internal application error has
occurred"
It worked fine a couple of days ago! Does anyone know why
this has happened and what I can do to fix it?

i am haveing a similar problem, whare i just uploaded
coral draw a little while ago, a week or two and it made
me upload quick time, and all my sound recorder files for
my "recorded works" got turned into a different icon and
utilized the quick time, i didnt trip, but just used the
new format, and then when i just recorded 2 cds and went
to try and preview then by ejecting and injecting the
newly finished and finallized cd , it *pings* at me and
wont allow access to windows media player, i try realone
player and it bearly wants to read cd's and on 1 of 2 of
the new ones i burnt it says some kinda error the same
that vicky had , im going to try and do the process that
someone just advised her, altho then i was previously
advised about 20 minutes ago to re down load the 9.0
version it pings at me again when i hit the down load
words on msn....i have a feeling that this is a msn error
and someone has done something, i have tried all
the "dummy" tasks and tried to get around it in the
system and under trobleshooting and still to no
avail.....if anyone knows how to fix this then please
rsvp...this is buggin me, i have a meeting tomorrow and

You have more than one media player trying to be the boss.
You have to check all of the options on each player and
set one as the default player. For instance, when you
install a realone player, it will set itself up as the
default player if you aren't paying attention. Quick time
is a Mac player which nevers works to well for me so got
rid of it as I did the Realplayer. Anyway good luck.
