Windows mail reply problem

Hi, I have no problem sending or receiving mail using Windows Mail through
my ISP Juno. When I try to reply to a message I get the following error:

"The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'juno.com'. Subject 'Re: Enquiry form',
Account: 'hwk', Server: 'smtp.juno.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response:
'553 Domain name required', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553,
Error Number: 0x800CCC78"

Any idea how to correct this?

Thanks,
Henry

The error is from the mail server not Windows Mail and the server is
expecting "a fully qualified" domain name.

smtp.juno.com the full name of the server for sending (pop.juno.com for
receiving).

The authenication is set in Tools | Accounts | <account name> | Properties |
Servers tab
There you will see the check box to set authenication and a Settings button
to apply username and password.

If authenication is NOT required, uncheck this.

"The rejected e-mail address was 'juno.com'."
That's not a valid email address.
Make sure both the recipient email address and the sender email address
are in proper format.

I missed that one, was thinking "account name" since we see it listed as
such a lot.

Thanks, The sender email address was wrong. I don't know why it defaults to
that, but correcting it worked.
