I have several issues with Windows Mail.

#1. Folders contents disappear regularly. I see I have messages but get a
Folder contents can not be displayed message. I close and reopen but this
does not help.

#2. What's with the Outbox. I have downloaded a patch and installed avast
and still I can not tell if the messages in the Outbox have been sent. They
stay there and don't get moved to the Sent folder.

#3. I have messages on my server that Windows does not download. I must
check my server to make sure I have received all my messages constantly.

Comment: Outlook express worked seamlessly what happened with this mail
program?

Download and install this fix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other
folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or the 64-bit
version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common antivirus programs,
such as most of those from Norton or McAfee, or a recent one from
Trend, often cause such problems, although not immediately, so if you
have such a program remember where to find the fix - you are likely to
need it again.

After applying the fix, you may need to delete the oldest message in
the Outbox.

When this happens, you may need to log onto your server using the web
interface and delete the oldest message that does not download.

It was renamed Windows Mail and had a few features cut out - apparantly in
an effort to sell more copies of Outlook (which is not the same as Outlook
Express). Outlook Express, not renamed, will not run under Vista.
