Windows has Blocked Program

-- Windows Vista premium 32.

I am the admin account and only person who uses my laptop.
My issue is I installed Avast free version anti virus and now each time I
start up my laptop Windows blocks Avast, Then after a half a minute it
unblocks it delaying my start up.
I don't care for the annoying message saying programs are blocked. How do I
get it to stop temporarily blocking Avast?

Thank you for volunteering your knowledge

Have you made any changes to the default settings in Avast FREE? Do you have
the very latest version direct from Avast and not through some other
download site? Avast is a fine program and is 100% compatible with Vista.
The initial Vista issue (about a year ago) had problems such as you state.

Yes I downloaded right from the Avast site and yes I did make some changes to
the default settings. However reinstalling Avast may be a soulution if I
cannot find how to stop this issue.
Windows is blocking because the "program needs permission to run". Monitor
refreshes and I guess it decides I have permission! Red X is removed from
Avast and
My wireless connection is also connencted at this time, I am ready to go
after this frustrating delay.
