Windows hangs during install

David Aames

I have rebuilt many Windows server by installing the
system and reformatting the c: partition and leaving the
data partition alone. By doing this I was able to have a
clean Windows install and leave all the data alone. This
has worked time and again. The problem I have run into
now is that when the disks have been changed to Dynamic
Disk and I then run the same process the system hangs when
booting after the first install screen (just before it
goes into the graphical portion of the install. Has
anybody run into this. Is there any way to get the system
to continue booting with out completely re-installing?

David,

You can't install Windows 2000 to Dynamic disk. The setup engine can't
deal with them. The same is true if you try to do an emergency repair
process, it will not be able to find Windows to repair it.
