Windows File Protection Error

Hi, I have recently upgraded to SP1 and also applied the Windows updates to
that...
Since doing that I get this intermittent error coming up...

Windows File Protection "Files that are required for windows to
run properly have been replaced by unrecognised versions, To maintain
system stability windows must restore the original versions of these files.
Please insert XP Professional CD Rom

I do that, and the error goes away, but it just keeps coming back,

I have read on some forums that this error is related to SP1

How do I fix the error once and for all....
Many thanks in advance

As a start, what does a scan with your current antivirus (using updated
definitions) show?

Nothing at all, Norton is up to date with latest definitions and clear....
Ive read several posts about this and noted that its caused by the instal of
SP1..... however there were several ways to fix that, most of which involved
editing the registry.... before I did anything at all, I wanted to make sure
I got the correct info , which is why I posted to this MS News Group......
Many thanks in advance
