If you have the install DVD and you have Restore points active, then boot
off of the install DVD/CD and restore back to a version of the O/S that
doesn't have this issue introduced to it. You most likely installed
something on the computer that's not Vista compatible and it has caused
this problem, which happened to me as well.

Thanks Mr. Arnold
Your feedback kept me trying things to fix problem.
Eventually fixed it, fingers crossed
- open internet explorer symbol bottom L.H.S of screen
- type in computer then windows to access system32 where indwvm.dll
is located
- right click highlighted indwvm.dll to get toolbar
- click properties at bottom

noticed indwvm.dll was named indwvm.dll."wyo" or similar ending (can't
remember)
- renamed it indwvm.dll &
- ticked box to make read-only &
- open with notepad
Don't know which one fixed it but suspect name change. Thanks again.

Similar APPCRASH with faulty .dll problems may work with similar approach

I had the same problem. I have a workaround if System Restore fails to
correct this. For me, It even occured in Safe Mode.
1. Make your way to starting Internet Explorer
2. on the address bar type:"control panel"
3. go to User Accounts...-> Add User account-> Create New "Admininstrator"
Account.
4. Shut down manually if you have to and reboot and access the new Admin
account
You will now have new account with all original programs still installed and
access to old files via either:
a. Internet exporer-> Address bar-> type: C:\users\ your old user account name
b Start button-> computer-> C:\Users\ you old user account name.

* You'll find here folders which will contain you old docs, downloads, etc
from you old account.

Thanks,
