windows explorer quick launch - missing icons

i'm runing windows xp home , recently deleted a couple icons from quick
launch that i didn't want , now i find that the ones i do use are gone also.
haven't found any thing on repairing quick launch . has anyone had this
happen , is there a fix?

Just drag the icons that you want back to to the Quick Launch Toolbar.
If the toolbar is missing and if you cannot enable it see here:

tried to drag icons to the tool bar earlier , didn't work , tried a second
time , still not working. will try the links and see what can be done .

You have to drag to the Quick Launch area, not just the Taskbar. Also

sorry , i miss wrote , i did drag the icons to the quick launch area of the
