Windows XP quicklaunch icons missing.

I'll explain this as best I can.

When I boot up my machine, XP is loaded automatically.

I can immediately see that a few quick launch icons are missing.

When I click on 'Start' -----> "Log off", I am presented with
a Log in screen which provides my name and the opportunity
to enter a password. If I just click on "OK" Windows is
then run, but THIS TIME, all the missing quick launch icons
are present, unlike booting up Windows automatically.

Could someone please tell me what is happening and if possible,
how to change my settings so that when I boot up, the missing icons
are all present.

My message didn't receive a single response.

No matter. I've solved the problem.

I opened up "My Network places" and disabled "Show icons for Networked
UPnP devices which required my Windows CD.

Upon rebooting, the missing icons were all displayed.

Right-Click on the task bar and select Properties from the list. Now on
the Takbar tab there should be an item for "Show Quick Launch" Tick
this if it isn't.

Hope this helps.
