I hope someone can help with this HP couldn't. I can no longer write to CD
from Windows Explorer or Media Player, however another program, HP Record
Now, works just fine
what happens is this, the CD writing wizard pops up and after clicking in
all the information it says "Adding Data to the CD Image" with a progress
bar, after this it says "Writing Data to the Disc". This is when it stops
and I get a message saying " There was an error in the writing process. The
disc you were attempting to write may no longer be usable. What do you want
to do?" with 3 choices, "Eject disc and try another, Delete files waiting to
be written, or save files so I can try later" It does this with any disc,
CD-R or CD-RW new, old, in between, or whatever. Other than this the CD
drive behaves exactly as it should and will copy files and music to disc
using HP Record Now. I have recently updated to SP2 and I believe this
started after that although I'm not sure. Other sources tell me it started
before the update so I'm not clear on this. I now find that un-installing
SP2 will cause more problems than it would solve due to new video card
software being dependent on SP2. I believe this is something simple to solve
although I can't figure it out. Can anyone help?
