To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

1. Remove the current signature file. To do this, click Start, click Run, type
Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}
and then click OK.
2. Open Windows Defender. To do this, click Start, click Programs,
and then click Windows Defender.
3. Check for new definitions. To do this, click the Help options arrow next
to the Windows Defender Help icon, click About Windows Defender, and
then click Check for Updates.

windows defender is the new name for microsofts antispyware program
and is in beta....meaning that there is still going to be issues
dealing with the program for a while yet to come. While there is no
messages covering your problem precisely I was able to come up with
something similar between panda and microsoft updating.

Basically what happened was the anti virus software(which runs in real
time) kept itself from fully updating...I am sure there will be a
patch out for this very shortly.

Ask the Author of the BETA program you have decided to test out for
free.
