Windows Defender Update Problem

For some reason, when I click cehck for updates, nothnig happens. When I go
to Windows Update or Microsoft Update, the update is there, but when i
install it, nothing happens. My Windows Defender Version is 1.1.1051.0, my
engine version is 1.1.1186.0, and my signature version is 1.14.1404.6.
Please help me if you can. Thanks. And for some reason the windows defender
icon doesnt appear everytime i start the computer when it needs an
update(hasnt been updated in 17 days), and i think the icon should always be
there if it hasnt been updated in 14 days. Also, i already clicked hide
icons for networked UPnP devices in My Network Places. It fixed the problem
for months, but lately, as in once or twice every 5 reboots, it doesnt show,
even though it needs an update.

Users who normally select advanced Spynet membership should be aware that
the install process will set you back to basic membership, so it's a good
idea to revisit both the Spynet membership area of Tools, and the Options

Now you gº to Windows Update, select Express (Get high-priority updates),
and apply all offered updªtes

Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs? There are many
pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and signature update
with windows defender will fail until you hªve these files.
