So--this is another Delta. I think each Delta builds on the Full, so to get
current over 1.0.0 defaults, you'd now need:

For Signature v.1.14.1530.8 & Engine 1.1.1508.0 from
http://www.download.windowsupdate.c..._86a9c41e57ee5cf43fed440ee96ac7af7842fb89.exe

For Signature v.1.14.1637.1 Manual Download from
http://www.download.windowsupdate.c...3e3d64584dc3abdd61997c147cfda2b26c96540.exeif I understand this right. I also assume that a new Delta can be appliedon top of an older Delta with the expected result--bringing you to thecurrent level.I'd love to have this confirmed without my having to actually test this outmyself--if anybody out there is ready to use this info.(I did a quick test, and it seems to work--I wasn't able to bomb myself backto 1.0.0 for unknown reasons, but running both updates did bring me current.Had to close and reopen the UI a couple of times to get everything to readcurrent, though.)

Yuck--repost to (attempt) correct formatting:

Yeah--something was wrong with Outlook Express. No settings changes between
the three attempts--just shut it down and restarted between 2 and 3. I'm
hoping that the first two will disappear from the newsserver--not sure it
will happen, though.

Hi Bill,

Does each MPAS-D sig release build on the last full release (MPAS-FE) or
upon the previous MPAS-D?

e.g. the Update path would be MPAS-FE -> MPAS_D(1) -> MPAS-D(2) etc until
the next MPAS-F or MPAS-FE release ....

I have just had a "horrible" thought that it might be the latter ... :-(

Regards

Simon

I had that horrible thought as well. I think that the D's build on the
full, but it could be the other way, and I better find out. I'll test it.

OK - I believe I've tested this properly.

On an xp SP2 laptop, I used mpcmdrun -RemoveDefinitions -All to bring the
displayed definitions level back to 1.0.0.

I then put in place the first link--the full one, which brought the
versioning to just what was expected.

I followed that with the delta definitions--the current ones, and it brought
me up to

Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1347.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1508.0
Definition Version: 1.14.1637.1

So--I think I have it right, based on this test.

Hi Bill,

Just to clarify, you applied 1 MPAS-FE sig and then 1 MPAS-D sig update or
was there more than 1?

Kind Regards

Simon

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the clarification.

If there was an FAQ for WD, I guess that this information should be included
in it :)

Kind Regards

Simon

Hmm - maybe when the product is released, we'll move to some dandy html
forum format that has space for such a FAQ. Who'd decide on the content to
be included would be a tough question, though--maybe the same folks who
write the "known issues" pages.
