Windows Defender constantly detects the same startup programs

I have two startup shortcuts in the Startup Folder for programs I wrote
myself. Every time I boot up, I am prompted to review these. There must be a
way to put startup programs on a white list. Or there shoud be an "Allways
Allow" option.

Another suggestion. This versions requires too many mouse clicks. Before a
pop-up allowed you to simply click "yes" or "no." Now it is necessary to
click the balloon tip. Click the combo box to select "allow" and then click
"close." That's 3 clicks where before it only took one.

I have the same problem. I have MSN Messenger starting up with my computer,
but I always have to click to allow it. Isn't there a way to "always allow"
with Windows Defender?

Finally, I'd also agree with the popup windows mentioned below. It was a
nice feature to just be able to click once, rather than 3 times.

I'd like to ammend my previous comments. While looking a little closer at
some of the options of Defender, I found that under "General Settings", there
is a spot where you can specify which files/folders to exclude from scanning.
If a particular file is giving you problems (in my case, msnmsgr.exe), you
can simply have it skip that file since you know it doesn't contain spyware,
and the balloon warnings won't come up.

Thanks. But I still hate all those clicks. I was wrong on my count. There are
actually 4. You also have to close the program. At least the apply changes
button should close the screen! And I wonder if this also applies to startups
in the registry.

In any case, I think there should be an "always ignore" option.

I have MSN Messenger starting automatically as well, but get no such alerts,
even with all checkboxes marked in General Settings.
