Windows 2000 to Windows XP Pro

Chris

I'm running Windows 2000 and want to upgrade to Windows XP
Pro.

1. Can I do this without losing any of my programs and
files, or will I have to start from scratch.

2. Is there a special version of XP Pro I have to buy?

Thanks

my problem is that IE hangs after a few uses (works for a
while after restart). am thinking it's something in the OS
and not IE (i installed a fresh copy of IE). did you go
to XPprof or XPhome?
