Windows 2000 permission problem

R

Ripul Handa

Hi,

I am facing a weird problem with windows 2000 server. I
cannot assign permissions on folders. When I go to the
security tab of a particular folder to assign permissions
and click add.... i cannot browse the active directory or
select the users or groups from my domain. I can only see
the local groups.

Can anyone let me know how to get rid of this problem.
Your help would be highly appreciated.

Regards

Ripul

Is the server a part of the domain ? Try to rejoin it to the domain.
Another one would be your DNS configuration. Make sure, that it is pointing
to your internal dns server.

Almost all replication problems and most Win2000+ authentication
(including machines losing domain connectivity) are really DNS issues.
