Windowa Vista Ultimate vs Windows Vista RC1

My machine is now running Windows Vista Ultimate that has been installed
about 2 mths ago. Presently Windows Vista RC1 is releasing, what is the
different between RC1 and Ultimate version? Do I have to upgrade my existing
version to RC1? or just updates the latest Ultimate version will do? Are
these two versions have the equivalent functionalities??

The different configuration versions of Vista (Home, Business, Ultimate
....) have nothing to do with the release version (Beta 2, RC1, RC2...).

Every release version contains all the configuration versions. Which is
installed depends on your product key. If you have product key for the
public preview of Vista, it is a key for Vista Ultimate.

If you want to have the RC1 release, you must download it and install it
(either as upgrade or clean install). You will still have Vista
Ultimate, but you should notice some improvements.

You are currently running beta 2 of windows Vista Ultimate, RC1 and 2
are 'release candidates' of Vista Ultimate. Vista is going to be
released in different flavours, see:

Beta2 build 5384,RC1 build 5600, RC1 build 5728, and RC2 build 5744 are
basically all the same however these builds are all gradual improvements on
each other these are all public releases that have been or are in the
process of being tested. The results of this testing are looked at by
Microsoft and bugs are fixed.
It's all up to you if you want to download the lastest build (RC2 5744) but
if you do download it you will find that it runs better than the previous
build (well at least for most people)
