Window XP

Receiving this error message: Windos could not start because the following
file is missing or corrupt: \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the
original Setup CD-ROM.
Select "r" at the first screen to start repair.

I have been trying this, however, I cannot get the disk to start up. Any
suggestions?

You'll need to adjust for that in the BIOS,priority boot device,or
similiar.Once
at recovery, select 1 for disk C: Press enter key for password.

Looks like the PC isn't set to boot form the CD-ROM. Visit my website

at question 13.

Place windows bootable cd in ur cdrom check boot device priority in ur
bios to cdrom. and choose boot from cd during bootup.

Also u can try this before doing that: There shd be a "system" file
backup in windows\repair folder copy it to windows\system32\config then
next overwrite. for future reference to avoid such errors have a copy
of all the files in windows\system32\config folder. thats ur windows
registry.
