I have the lates version 1592. Ok I've been looking around the Group Policy
(gpedit.msc) and cannot find Window Defender on the list of Windows components

Ok the release not has this posted:

Windows Defender offers only limited Group Policy settings. The final
version of Windows Defender will include administrator (.adm) files so that
you can configure those limited settings in Windows Defender through Group
Policy.

Highlight administrative templates in gpedit.msc, right click, and add. You
should see Windows Defender as one available to be added.

Details posted in the .networking group

Here's the step by step from the posts in .networking that I mentioned:

The .ADM file is installed when the released Windows Defender version is
installed.

To see the settings available, under Windows XP SP2, do start, run,
gpedit.msc

right-click administrative templates, and click add

Click add

Choose Windows Defender.adm from the displayed list and click Open.

Click close on the add/remove templates windows

Open Administrative Templates
Open Windows Components
Open Windows Defender to see the policy settings available.

I believe these steps should work on your OS version--I'm not sure they
would work on XP Home.
