Win98SE

I am considering upgrading to Win 2000, but unsure of the installation
options.

Is ti possible to install "over" win98 so as not having to re-install the
many M/B of programs and also save my many customisations within tha
App's.?............avoid formatting 60gig H/D if possible?

Someone may direct me to a site/s for the above purpose?

TIA

I'd say most of the time you are much better off backing up your data, doing
a clean install of W2k and then reinstalling your apps. With WinXP, upgrades
tend to be pretty smooth - esp. W2k-->XP - but I've had bad experiences with
in-place upgrades.

Should you choose an inplace upgrade, back up your data first anyway. Then
uninstall any antivirus software, disconnect all but your keyboard, mouse,
and monitor, boot up, and stick the W2k disk in the CD-Rom and install away.
