Win2K sp4 server hangs at Windows 2000 screen

Will not boot past. This is a DC and a file server in
production. No system changes recently. Same result
using safe mode. Any help much appreciated.

If you're positive that no device drivers were updated, or updates from
Windows Update applied recently, then the next step I would take is to boot
from the install CD-ROM and choose Repair the installation.
