Windows 2000 Server SP 4 will not start up after install

I recently installed the SP4 update on my Win2k dc. It will not boot up
past the windows startup screen. The progress bar goes about 75% and then
it will not go any further. It does not look like it is frozen, but the
progress bar does not move any further. I booted into safe mode and
uninstalled the SP4 update, but the same happens during startup. Any ideas
on what to do? Thanks.

No, I could not resolve the problem. I even tried using the repair console,
but I had no luck. Good thing I had a recent Ghost image, because that is
the only thing that saved me from having to rebuild that machine.
