win2k machines shuts down after updates install

Today my win2k machine told me that updates were ready to install. Since I
always trust
content from microsoft, I installed updates. Now my machine shuts down
every 7 minutes.
Before the updates my win2k machine was pretty reliable.

Here are the error messages from event viewer:

The server {66B093B7-B5E3-4CFE-B32B-FEB55F172481} did not register with DCOM
within the required
timeout.

The AVSync Manager service terminated with the following error:
The specified module could not be found.

Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following
update.
- Security Update, February 13, 2002 (MSXML 4.0)

I searched technet and found no information on the AVSync Manager service

What should I do, microsoft reps?

AVSynch manager is probably related to your antivirus software and not
anything to do with Windows. The DCOM error is common, I would ignore it.
Have you tried uninstalling the updates that you applied to see if the
machine will stop shutting down?
