Failed updates

When connecting to the Windows Update website, the installation goes through
like normal, and then fails at the end. I get the following message:

"Failed Updates
For help installing an update successfully, see the solution under each
problem description.

Problem: End User License Agreement (EULA) Not Accepted
Solution: Check for updates again and wait while you install updates. You
will be asked to accept the EULA before any updates with a EULA can be
installed.

Problem: Not Enough Disk Space
Solution: To make more space available, run the Disk Cleanup tool or
uninstall any programs that you don’t use. For directions, see Help and
Support on your computer.

Problem: Automatic Updates is currently installing updates
Solution: Please wait until Automatic Updates is complete and then check
your update history. At that time, if the update has failed to install, you
can try installing it from the website.
Note: To view Automatic Updates progress, click the updating icon in your
System Tray.

Problem: Please check your update history for a description.

Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)"

The following is true:
1) Problem: EULA Not Accepted - I was never asked an EULA confirmation.
2) Problem: Not Enough Disk Space - I have 1GB free on the Win2K drive.
3) Problem: Automatic Updates is currently installing updates - If it is,
how do I stop it? I've had the same message through several reboots and,
unless it's installing something in the background, I don't think this
applies.
4) Problem: Please check your update history for a description - The update
history does not show this attempted installation.

The only other installation that has ever failed with Microsoft update is
this: "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
(KB890923)"

What can I do? I have the Windows 2000 Professional original box, CD and
yellow code sheet right here. How do I get the WGA tool installed so I can
receive updates again?

I've got that problem with one specific update only.

It's an update for my network interface drivers.

What seems to happen is that updating the drivers makes the network go down
for a short while, and that makes the update "fail".
