Win XP LOGO Screen Freeze. What is loading there?

Hi I am desperate for some Win XP Home help, my situation seems hopeless.
Windows XP will not boot normally. It freezes at the Won XP Home logo screen
before welcome screen every time no matter what I try. I have recently
installed a mother board and CPU, I was using in another system. First reboot
with new components was successful; I reactivated Win after it recognized all
the new hardware, and restarted since then even after two or clean installs
the same thing happens. I can only start in Safe Mode. What is windows XP
loading when the logo screen appears? Could there be a problem with a
driver, motherboard, and hardware component. Everything was working fine
before I switched.

Edit boot.ini and put /sos at the end of multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)
\WINDOWS="Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect and you'll be able to see.

ex: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect
/sos
