Win Explorer 'My Computer' suddenly VERY slow

C

Chucko

In Windows Explorer, and all other programs that browse
the 'My Computer' drives, I have been getting the
scanning flashlight and it takes forever to display the
drives (a, c, d, etc.). My Docs display fast, My Network
Places display fast too, other computers on my network
can access files on this computer just fine . . . but for
some reason the 'My Computer' contents are VERY slow
(like five minutes . . .) to appear on the screen.
Anybody have any clues?? Thx.

Hi,

When you click Start and then click My Computer, or when you double-click My
Computer on your Windows desktop, Windows may search (a flashlight may
appear) for a long time (for example, 5 minutes) before files appear.

Disable the Windows Image Acquisition service.

If this does not help, uninstall 821557 hotfix
