win 2k won't shut down my computer

Hi there,

when I choose to shut down or reboot my laptop (start menu), win 2k closes,
and then, instead of shutting down/rebooting, I get this black screen with a
blinking cursor on the upper-left corner. Nothing else happens, and I can't
even reboot manually pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del. I have to switch the computer
off by pressing the on/off button for several seconds.

Does anyone have an idea to make Win 2k reboot normally ?

Hopefully the information in the article will help you identify what is
hanging the system when shutting down.
