Why won't sounds in preview/properties play

When trying to insert sound clips I click on Preview/Properties to preview
the sound and even after clicking on Play the sound won't play. Any idea on
why or what I can do?

This is from the Clip Art I assume. Chances are the settings on your system
won't allow the playing of the sound
file. If you select and insert one of these and then play the slide show, does
the sound play?
