Why is Q147222 installed on XP SP2?

This automatic update is for NT, not XP:

"After you install Service Pack 4 on a computer running
either Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0 or Microsoft
Windows NT Server 4.0, a registry entry referring to Q147222
appears under the Hotfix key at the following location:..."

Why has it been automatically installed on my XP SP2 system?

I don't know. KB article doesn't say why it's installed. It's in my registry
but not listed in Add/remove programs in control panel. Obviously installed
at original XP installation.

Why are yuo concerned? My computer runs fine. How did yuo "stumble" across it?

After an update installed via internet by MS I found system
settings changed, such as enabling SP2 Firewall which I had
disabled. I discovered that problem when my regular firewall
changed behavior after the update.

I got curious about how much other meddling MS had done
during the update. The investigation included the systemifo
listing of hotfixes.

No doubt Windows Vista will lack such problems. :=)
