Why is my Security Option "Greyed Out"

OS: Windows 2000

Can anyone explain why when I click the Tools menu in FrontPage 2000, I find the Security option is greyed out, I am trying to set up permissions in a subweb & according to many of the articles I've read online (including messages posted in these newsgroups) this is how you should proceed when setting up a restricted site.

Do I need to configure something within FrontPage or IIS so I can access this Security option?

I would appreciate any help or advice.

Kind Regards,

Only available on the live web on the remote server, and only if the host
allows it. Many don't.

Open your remote web and see.

Hi Wayne,

It will only be available if the system and web that you have open supports it. For example, your WPP site would be enabled.

Hello Tom,
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my message. I'm still a little confused as the site is being hosted directly from the computer that I'm running IIS & FrontPage on, I am not uploading content to a service provider.

Your reply message indicated that this is only available on the live remote web server, and only if the host allows is; as I am also the host that would indicate I need to configure something, maybe within the FrontPage extensions? that will give me access to this security option?

Although I do not consider myself an expert I do have an intermediate grasp of FrontPage, Server Extensions & IIS. Can you elaborate further please?

Kind Regards,
