why is my computer running slow???

i have an computer. it is windows XP. when i first got it
it was running just fine, but now it takes forever. there
is still a lot of memory space in it (we pretty much
don't save anything).can you help me get it running
faster??

It could be spyware. try downloading Adaware SE at www.lavasoftusa.com, and
then running it. There could be spyware processes that are running in the
background that are slowing your computer down. Hope it helps.

In addition to the excellant advice given by Zed the Tiger, first , got to
Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk clean up, run that ,
then run Adaware SE.

Have you defraged your HD?

Is a current Virus checker running?

Need more details.
