Why does Outlook not send an email when I invite attendee in Calen

I am using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP, as is my husband. Our computers are
connected via a LAN. We have recently changed to hotmail accounts as opposed
to POP3 and are using Outlook Connector to access them. Now when I invite my
husband as an attendee via Calendar, it no longer sends an email to him and
vice versa.

Any ideas?
