Why can't I buy Vista?

I went to staples today and they don't have any copies of vista available.
Why isn't it available yet?

Lucky you. Why would you want to buy something that won't really be
ready until late 2008?

And the fact its not available at the major retailers is just a marketting
ploy?

No ploy. I first bought Vista Ultima Edition several weeks ago at
CompUSA. It's widely available in the US. Got a couple copies of the
Business Edition for machines at work at Best Buy yesterday.

You don't live in Canada, do you? I've heard it won't be available there
until next summer at the earliest. Something about the need to simplify
the interface. I think they are calling it Aero Troll.

I don't want vista. You're a moron if you have it on anything other than a
test system.

Then why again is it that you are asking why you can't buy Vista, and why is
it you were at Staples asking about Vista?

I guess my source will prove himself when vista doesn't ship for 30jan.

Hi Robert. Mob mentality takes over in this group when anyone says
something the MS disciples don't want to hear. There are a few of us
skeptics in this group they all gang up on.

Alright Bobbi time to put up or shut up. You keep yapping that you have a
source, but have not produced the evidence. Everyone in here has posted proof
to clearly show that Vista is out to businesses and will be released to
consumers on Jan 30th, 2007. There is no sensible or logical reason to think
that they'd release to businesses then push back the consumer versions.
You're quickly losing any and all creditability in here, time to peove your
case or go away.

Is there any reason in the world that it won't ship on Jan 30th? The product
is finished, the press releases are written, the product has already been on
sale since Nov 30, 2006...

Maybe if a meteor hits the Earth... is your source an astronomer?

If his source really told him it won't be ready for Jan 30, then he wouldn't
have gone to staples looking for it, would he? Maybe he doubts his 'source'?

For some reason, nothing he says makes sense.

I seriously doubt you would be able to comprehend the benefits MS will see
by having businesses deploy Vista before it's retail launch. So I wont even
bother.

84% of its customers is not semantics. Aren't you over your
prison-mandated allotment of internet time?

The retail market for Windows - that is, the going into Staples to buy
a copy off a shelf (which is the basis for your thread) actually
represents a tiny proportion of the sales for Microsoft.
Your figures are incorrect.
Again more petty personal attacks to undermine any credibility you
think you have.

And thus I rest my case - Windows Vista or as it was known when I made
that post the Windows "Longhorn" client - HAS SHIPPED in 2006. It IS
available as has been spelled out to you already to a huge proportion of
the Microsoft customer base - in fact the largest portion (businesses),
add to that the IT Pro and Dev community access to the SHIPPED/FINAL
product and my statement is vindicated.
You petty playing with semantics here is doing nothing to justify your
position or strengthen your statement. This lack of credibility on your
part is reinforced by your petty personal insults.

"Microsoft is run by incompetent morons..."

How can Microsoft be responsible for preorders taken by Amazon.com and
others?
Simply the can't.
If anyone would have problems because of preorders, it would be the
organization taking the preorders.

Incorrect assumptions often result in wrong conclusions.
