Vista is fine, it's trolls spamming UseNet with HTML messages that annoys me
:)

I guess their whining will at the very least warn others
contemplating "upgrading" to Fista. Other than that, I agree with you. If
they don't like Fista, they should just move on to a real operating system
like GNU/Linux.

Cheers.

Some of us don't have a choice, as we will be required to use/support Vista
in
the future. I would rather point out the problems with Vista (can you say
UAC)
then simply ignore them and hope they go away.

I'm hoping that if enough of us point out Vista's flawed implementation it
will
encourage Microsoft to improve it. Yes, I know, but I can hope can't I?

The very reason why UAC is hated (despite the grumbling about Windows XP's
out of the box weak security in comparison) is because it literally forces
you to change the way you work. As much as people criticized Windows XP's
lack of built-in security, the mere fact that Windows Vista actually has
stronger security (including UAC) which forces the user to do things with
security in mind, is because users had *five years* to get used to that very
thing they complained about (the lack of built-in security). Apparently,
security is only suitable if it's like the Three Monkeys (Not Seen, Not
Heard, and Not Spoken Of) for the most vocal of UAC critics.

By the way, I have no issues with UAC (and I leave it on, which is the
default).

The issue is how poorly UAC is implemented. Anybody with any real
computer experience understands THAT is what the issue is. The endless
parade of nag screen for repeated routine tasks is a major blunder in
implementation, and no surprise, Microsoft knows it, and a little
birdie told me they are already working on ammending it again. As hard
as it is to believe some people I know that were beta testers said UAC
was originally worse then you see it now. We'll see what happens. ;-)

Which problems are you refering to? This whole newsgroup is about solving
problems yet you choose to harass people. Post your problems and MAYBE
someone could help you or if you find a fix let people know. Who's forcing
you to use Vista? The Russian mafia have a gun to your head? Use Win 95 if
thats what you want to use, stop bothering those of us who use Vista.

Yeah, well... what can you expect from malcontent trolls? Try rolling into a
linux NG and posting something like "yeah, Linsux... is what it is..." and
see what kind of flaming occurs.

And I'm just joking about Linux... I have no problem with folks choosing to
use Linux. I do, however, have a problem with folks rolling in here just to
flame away without adding any value to the NG. Yes, this is a "general" NG.
That doesn't mean you can just roll in and spew hatred, which is the -only-
content the malcontents (LOL) have to offer.

Is Vista perfect? Of course not. Do I recommend that folks blindly move to
Vista? No. Do I make an attempt to assist folks who have problems in this
NG? Yes; to the best of my ability.

Malcontent trolls aren't here to help folks... they're here to leave a
footprint... and that's contrary to the spirit of these NG's. Opposing views
are welcome; moronic name calling and personal attacks are not.

I totally agree. These types always say how great Linux is but never show
the proof.

I'm running it perfectly fine on 2 systems and all hardware is working on
both, including the wireless on the notebook?

I actually have a printer in the office that *won't* work with windows,
shitty driver apparently..crashes the machine, but works perfectly fine
with ubuntu? (as do all other printers in the office).

So I for one think its very great. =)

there are support channels to pass suggestions/recommendations to microsoft.
these news groups is not the most correct correct way.
vista has been released, it is no longer in development.
supposedly sp1 is being prepared for. posting suggestions/recommendations to the proper area might help.

not to say that someone else may take the complains and re-post them to the proper channels.

Stop with the self-serving bullshit will ya fella! Hint: You don't
control who gets to say what to this newsgroup. Try to learn that.

Just one quick question, do you wipe the area of Microsoft's hairy
butt you so eagerly kiss before you begin to smooch? I hope so, for
your own health. <snicker>

"mikeyhsd" <[email protected]> a well established Microsoft butt
kisser needed to bellow the following rant, the self-important jerk he
